Tooling readiness is necessary and easy to score. Operational readiness is necessary and hard to score — which is why most enterprise AI scorecards quietly skip it.
Alignment is the readiness layer that matters: ownership clarity in the workflows AI will touch, KPI design that doesn't pit teams against each other, governance that holds outcome owners accountable, workforce strategy positioned to absorb the change.
Score the alignment. The tooling will work either way. Without alignment, the tooling just scales whatever is broken underneath it.
